Shelly Ren Ph.D, Director of Bioanalytical Services
Shelly had many opportunities to travel between chromatography separation and mass spectroscopy starting from her earlier graduate research. During her 10 years career from a small contract bioanalytical lab to a major pharmaceutical company, Shelly has been a leader in bioanalytical methods development using LC-MS-MS. For example, with the success of "combination therapies" using reverse transcriptase inhibitors, antiinfectives, and protease inhibitors in the treatment of HIV infection, She developed a single method for profiling six protease/reverse transcriptase inhibitors in human plasma. The method utilizes robotic solid phase extn. at neutral pH and is generally applicable to all the analytes and their internal standards.

While exploring synthetic methodology applied to semi & total synthesis of diverse analogs of natural products, Mike did research at Indiana University-Bloomington, Brigham Young University and University of Nevada-Reno, respectively.
